The way to sensitize

Below you can see the list of excersices we have included in the sensitizing booklet.
What we want to do by this is getting the participant to a deeper level of emotion, step by step, from factual information to more experience-like information, and from the present to the past to the future. We want to get a clear view on what was happening in the lives of the participants and what was their emotional world like...

Let's hope they like it too!

The steps we want the participants to make during the sensitizing

0.       Identify participant
-name
-age
- residence
- profession
- picture of participant in front of one’s house (context)
- explanation of their context (current)
(with how many people are at your dinner table every day?)

1.       Memory of your experience
Facts about:
-          Where did they live before
-          With whom where they living
Timeline with different types of houses  Give them different kinds of stickers (villa, apartment, townhouse, student house, etc) and make them to explain their own background memory.
Just about the past and the home they are living in right now (no future).

2.       Ask about where they live at this moment.
-          How long do they live there
-          What was the occasion for moving to this house
-          Picture assignment about some places inside the house:
o   What is a place inside the house which is really important for them
o   What place did they rebuild a lot
o   What place of the house has to be improved
o   What place in the house give them a secure feeling
o   Etc
o   Who are their roommates
Make stickers with these topics which they can place on the pictures during the session.

3.       Ask them what kinds of features are important to choose their house
-Give them certain options like easy to access to the city, amount of space …. These options are presented as pictures and words which the participants place on a value circle.
4.       When you look back to the process of buying a new house, which things do you have to think of, for example:
-          Insurances, mortgage, taxes, debts, etc
Which one is the most difficult and caused the most concern and why?

5.       Time line about the financial part of buying (and looking for) a new home.
-          Insert smileys to make clear how the participants feel during this process
-          Which parts of the process were the most important for them

6.       The participants have a lot of experience with buying a house and with the financial part of this. Now we ask them to give a golden tip for a close friend about buying a new house (could be everything, doesn’t has to be something about the finances)
